The origin’s of pie mash and liquor can be traced back 200 years and it started out as London’s original street food. Pie sellers would walk the streets selling their wares, eventually the successful ones would be able to find a premises and open their own pie and mash shop. At it’s peak over 150 pie shops were dotted around London, feeding it’s inhabitants with cheap and filling hot meals.
Although now we have an enormous choice of different foods, the traditional pie mash and liquor still has a stronghold and customers will travel many miles to find that authentic taste they remember from childhood!
Our first Goddard’s pie and mash shop opened in 1890 and we have been making hand made pies every since. Today we have a pie factory that uses the Goddard’s family recipes and traditional techniques to make London pie mash and liquor for the food trade.
